The Flettner 2000 roof vent is regarded as the definitive wind-power van roof vent in the UK. It has a time-proven design, respected performance figures, and is renowned as being reliable due to it’s rugged design. It’s that tough, it’s even been used in Antarctica by the British Antarctic Survey.
A great roof vent for small to medium sized vans, it’s often seen fitted to animal transportation vehicles and trailers around the UK. It’s been the ‘go to’ van roof vent for many fleet managers and converters for years.
Quick and easy to fit, the Flettner 2000 has an unrivalled list of endorsements. It’s a very dependable van roof vent which has been proven by use in the Antarctic and kayak expeditions across the Tasman sea.
For vehicles which have an inner lining, a Flettner 2000 adapter is available to bridge the gap between the outer skin and the inner lining.
Fitting The Flettner 2000 On Ribbed Roofs
If the ventilator is to be to a ribbed section of a roof ensure that the base of the ventilator can sit on the roof surface between the ribs, and that the position chosen will permit the support ring (if fitted) to sit flush with the underside of the roof.
The Flettner 2000 ventilator cannot be without adaptation to roofs where the spacing between raised ribs is less than 5.75” (145mm). However an alternative model, the Flettner TCX-2 ventilator (narrow base version), can be to roofs where the spacing between raised ribs is as small as 4.25” (108mm).
